On this episode, I answered an email from one of our listeners. She wrote me for advice after she’d had a troubling conversation where her manager criticized her. I unpacked the email and provided her with some guidance.
Here's a recap of the advice I gave her. I provided six ways for her to handle the criticism:
#1. Make sure you fully get their communication.
#2. Be a matador/avoid being defensive.
#3. Relabel/reframe criticism as communication.
#4. Don’t be afraid of their power.
#5. Keep in mind they’re doing the best they can.
#6. Resolve to work on yourself.
